Group Partnerships

Home Free

Greyhound's partnership with Home Free Home began in 1974 as a partnership between Greyhound and the International Association of Chiefs of Police. Today, Greyhound partners with the National Runaway Switchboard, which administers the program. More than 13,000 runaway youth have been reunited with their families since the inception of Home Free.

The National Runaway Switchboard's mission is to help keep America's runaway and at-risk youth safe and off the streets. Through the Home Free program, runaway youth ages 12 to 20 can request a free ticket home on a Greyhound bus. This year the partnership helped nearly 3000 young people reunite with their families.

More than 2 million children run away each year in the United States. Greyhound's extensive network is more accessible to youth than other modes of travel and is a safer alternative than relying on strangers.
