First Student Signs New Contract with Holyoke Public Schools in Holyoke, Mass.

Three-year contract includes operation, maintenance and management of 78 vehicles.

First Student, Inc., the nation’s leader in student transportation, has signed a contract to provide student transportation for the Holyoke Public Schools in Holyoke, Mass., beginning July 1, 2009. First Student is part of Cincinnati-based FirstGroup America, North America’s largest transportation company.

The contract is a three-year, full-service agreement for the operation, maintenance and management of a fleet of 78 vehicles, which includes 53 new vehicles provided by First Student. These buses feature the industry’s latest technologies, including digital video cameras, high-definition GPS tracking systems, the Child Checkmate electronic reminder system, and cleaner-running diesel engines that meet the EPA’s newer, more stringent emissions guidelines.

That fact, along with our industry-leading safety record and strong commitment to customer service, will ensure we will deliver the safest, most efficient student transportation services for the families and children who rely on us each day.” 

Experienced bus drivers are needed to staff the new fleet. Applicants should contact the Holyoke Public Schools to apply.
