On Trains
Cleanliness
We want you to enjoy the highest standards of service on every First ScotRail journey. We will make sure all our trains are spotless at the start of every day. We also clean interiors between journeys whenever possible, and train exteriors are washed every day or second day.
On Board Announcements
Our train staff will give you travel announcements throughout your journey, and keep you informed of any delays. You will also find helpful route information on train window labels or on our train public information systems. Our on board staff will also make safety announcements at key stations, and safety notices are fitted on all First ScotRail coaches.
Hospitality
A trolley service is provided on some services. These are shown in the timetable. Regular quality checks will be carried out to ensure that this service meets the high standards we have set. The lounge cars for our sleeper customers provide a more comprehensive catering facility. If, for some reason, we cannot provide the advertised catering service, we will try to let you know in advance of travel.
At Stations
Our stations and car parks are regularly checked to ensure that they are kept clean and free from litter; that lighting is operational; that public address systems are in working order; and that all posters and information on display is accurate. In line with current legislation, smoking is not permitted in public station areas.
