First ScotRail advice for Rockness festival-goers

03 June 2008

First ScotRail is advising customers travelling to Inverness over this weekend (Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 June) that trains are likely to be significantly busier than usual with people heading to the Rockness Festival.

With headline acts including Razorlight, Fat Boy Slim and Underworld, the concert at Dores on the banks of Loch Ness is expected to attract around 30,000 fans each day for Saturday and Sunday.

It is anticipated many will travel by train on the Friday and make their way home on Monday 9 June. First ScotRail advises fans travelling by train that they should plan their journey and book their tickets in advance.

A queuing system will be in place at Inverness Station over the weekend and extra staff will be on hand at key locations to assist passengers.
