Emissions for average car: 0.2075 kg CO2/km (Defra 2007) Average loading of a car: 1.58 (DfT 2006, Transport Trends) Average distance (as above): 6.92 km. Therefore emissions per journey: 0.2075/1.58*6.92=0.909 kg CO2/passenger journey.
