Great ticket deals for UEA Students & Staff

We offer a range of discounted tickets that are exclusive to students (and staff) of the UEA.  Our UEA Annual Tickets are available exclusively as an mTicket on the First Bus App, whilst our UEA Solo tickets can be bought on the app or as a paper ticket from our city centre travel shop.  But remember, if you lose your paper ticket, we can't replace it.

All of our tickets offer you unlimited travel on any of our buses either all across Norwich, or over our entire network which covers Norfolk, Suffolk and beyond and are far, far cheaper than buying tickets from the driver on the bus!

UEA Norwich Zone Tickets

UEA Annual Norwich:  £295

By far our best value ticket, you can travel as much as you like on absolutely any of our Network Norwich bus routes in and around the city for a ridiculous £1.31 per day or £9.21 per week* - that's around the cost of just two Young Person Return (Day) tickets between uni and the city!  And remember, once you hit 20 you must pay the full adult fare on our buses, or risk paying a penalty fare.

*And what's more - that's only worked out over 32 academic weeks...you can use it for a whole 52!!

UEA Solo Norwich:   £140

Ideal if you're only at UEA for a short time, or if you want to pay for your year's travel in three installments, we've got the UEA Solo Norwich ticket.  Exactly the same as the Trio and Annual, you can use it on all our Network Norwich buses, but this time you're just paying for one term at a time.

Autumn Term 2023 - 4th September to 21st December 2023
Spring Term 2024 - 2nd January to 28th March 2024
Summer Term 2024 - 12th April to 19th July 2024

UEA Explorer Zone Tickets

Valid for unlimited travel on all our bus services all across Norwich, and to/from and all over the Norfolk and North Suffolk coast, including Gt Yarmouth, Lowestoft, Southwold and loads more places.

So if your university course involves you going on placement, or you just fancy some great days out whilst you're living here in the east (and to be honest, there's tonnes to do - summer and winter!), then this could well be the ticket for you.

Travelling less often?

If you don't think that one of our great value UEA tickets is quite right for you, there's a number of other ways you can save on bus travel.  These are all much cheaper than buying a single or return ticket when you get on the bus, and they're much quicker too, helping us to stay on time.   You'll always find the best range of options exclusively on our FREE First Bus App and some can also be bought on board the bus with contactless or even cash...the exact fare is best!

All the tickets below are valid for travel within our Norwich Zone.

5-day ticket - allows 5 consecutive days unlimited travel - buy on app or on bus
Weekly ticket - allows 7 consecutive days unlimited travel - buy on app or on bus
Flexi-5 - unlimited travel for any 5 days in 14 - buy on app
10-trip ticket - valid for any 10 single journeys in 28 days - buy on app
Monthly ticket - unlimited travel for a whole month - buy on app

If you use the bus less often, but still want to save money every time you travel, then you'll need a 10-trip ticket.  Our most flexible option, you can use these for any 10 single journeys anywhere within the Norwich Zone at anytime up to 28 days from purchase.

Don't forget, as soon as you turn 20 years old you'll need to buy an adult ticket.  If you want to keep making savings at Young Person prices, then you'll need to buy one of our exclusive UEA tickets shown above.
