Poems on the Bus Project
Poems on the Bus - Scotland's Global Footprint
This project is a story of culture meeting, environmental concerns and the bus being a focal point for both.
First once again teamed up with the AEEC and invited primary school children in both the city and shire to participate in this project.
The project aimed to raise awareness of the environment and the difficulties experienced through environmental degradation. Participating pupils were asked to express their knowledge and feelings about the environment through compositions of poems and drawings.
Over 240 children from across the city and shire participated in the project. Every child received a certificate for their efforts. The top 3 from every class also had their work replicated into coves that were displayed on First buses across Aberdeen.
A booklet of the top 3 poems has also been produced and widely distributed.
