FirstCard can no longer be used

The Bradford FirstCard scheme came to an end on 2nd March 2012. FirstDay Bradford is now available from your driver without the need for a FirstCard.

Why have you withdrawn FirstCard?

Across the UK First is investing £27 million to equip all of our buses with new industry leading ticket machines. Unfortunately FirstCard, which was developed over 10 years ago is not be compatible with the new technology. After further development the new machines will accept payments direct from debit and credit cards.

I still have credit remaining on my FirstCard - what can I do?

Please visit our depot at Bowling Back Lane in Bradford to receive a refund on your remaining credit. This service will be available 0900-1600, Monday-Friday (excluding Bank Holidays) until 5th October - please bring a form of identification with you. For larger amounts, we may arrange for a cheque to be sent to your home address.

To get to Bowling Back Lane depot by bus, use our Works Service bus from Stand V in Bradford Interchange (this is a free service operating approx. every 10 minutes).

The address is Bowling Back Lane, Bradford, BD4 8SP. If you drive to our depot there are visitor's parking spaces alongside reception - please note the one-way system and 10mph speed limit.

I buy FirstDay ticket on FirstCard - do I now have to buy a more expensive ticket?

No, FirstDay Bradford (£3.60) - valid for unlimited travel at anytime of day within the Bradford Boundary - is now available from your driver without a FirstCard.

I have a FirstYear pass on FirstCard that is still valid - what can I do?

We have issued all FirstYear holders with equivalent tickets so you can continue travelling until the expiry date on your pass. We have attempted to contact all pass holders, however if you have not heard from us please contact us on 0845 604 5460 & select option 3 (make sure you have your FirstCard number when you call).

I previously bought FirstMonth on FirstCard - what are my alternatives?

FirstMonth Bradford is available from the Metro Travel Centre in Bradford Interchange or online for £60 - you will need a passport sized photograph.
