Fleet List

We operate a fleet of modern, safe and accessible buses across Dorset and South Somerset. We are working hard to ensure that all buses are super low floor, with much of the fleet now to this standard.

Here is a summary of some of the main vehicle types in the fleet.

Double Deck Fleet

Volvo 9TL Wrights Gemini

Seven vehicles were bought specifically for the popular X53 Jurassic Coast route in 2008 wearing a special livery dedicated to the route. The vehicles are the most modern in the fleet featuring EuroX engines with Adblue to reduce emissions, onboard and exterior CCTV for passenger and driver safety.

Scania L94UD Omnidekka

These five high specification double deckers are specially branded for Service 31 between Weymouth and Axminster. With chassis and engines built by Scania and bodywork by East Lancashire coach builders in the UK, these buses are an impressive site on the roads of Dorset.

The sixth vehicle delivered in 2005 is in standard First livery.

Open Top Fleet

Our popular Weymouth & Portland Open Top Tour service 501 returns for the Summer 2011 season. We have two Open Toppers at Weymouth, a Volvo Olympian which started life as a London bus and a Volvo Citybus which was new to Western National, Plymouth.

Single Deck Fleet

Volvo B7RLE

A common sight across most First fleets. This popular single deck bus is the regular choice on Service 1 from Weymouth to Portland with 8 of the type operated. Chassis and engines by Volvo and bodywork by the Wright Group.

Volvo B6BLE

In many ways, the baby sister to the Volvo B7RLE. These eight buses were new in 1999 and can be found on many services operated by Weymouth depot.

Dennis Dart

Britain's best selling bus in the late 1990's is represented by super low floor buses and step entrance versions. Again a familiar site across Dorset and South Somerset.

Optare Solo

The new generation of midibus is represented by 5 of the type in Dorset, including an ultra slim version operated on the 71 Lyme Regis Town Service.
