WHO WOULD YOU LIKE TO SIT NEXT TO ON A BUS ON VALENTINES DAY
A poll commissioned by First UK Bus to find out who people would most like to sit next to on the back seat of a bus on Valentines Day has found that Norfolk talent is holding its own against the Hollywood elite.
The nationwide poll, which surveyed over 3000 people, has found that in Norwich both Steven Fry and David Beckham were joint male celebrity favourites, each with 12.5% of the vote, followed by David Tennant (11%) and George Clooney (9.3%). Most popular female celebrities in Norwich were Cheryl Cole (24.5%), followed by Kate Winslet (14.2%) and Lorraine Kelly (10.2%).
However, figures for East Anglia show that Dr Whos David Tennant was top male celebrity with 12.5% of the vote, followed by George Clooney (11.5%) and Steven Fry (8.2). Top female celebrities for East Anglia were Cheryl Cole (21%) followed by Kate Winslet (12.7%) and Lorraine Kelly (11.6%).
The survey has also shown that people have found love " or at least a date or two on the bus.
Norwich is the 2nd top city in the UK where a bus ride is likely to lead to love where a whopping 28.5% of people who met and fell in love on a bus ended up getting married. For East Anglia, the figure is an impressive 16.6%.
Says Alan Pilbeam, Managing Director of First Eastern Counties Buses:
"While clearly many people still find their partner at work or through friends, it is interesting to see that so many people have found love on public transport.'
