I would like to welcome you to the First in London website. It contains information for anyone with an interest in our Services. Whether you are a passenger, are interested in joining FirstGroup or you are a bus enthusiast; there will be something for you.

First in London operates buses in the Capital under contract to Transport for London (TfL). We operate from nine depots across London from Uxbridge in the West to Dagenham in the East.

Our aim to run safe, innovative, reliable and sustainable bus services.

We really believe in this aim and know that our staff are the key component in making this possible. It is for this reason that I am proud their achievements have been formally recognised by their industry peers (see Awards page).

For a complete picture of what's happening across all of London's various transport options including the Underground, London Taxis, light rail, river boat services and cycle routes please take a look at the TfL website. The site will give you full details of fares, non-First services and a whole host of other information.

First continues to operate the Fuel Cell buses on route RV1 and in the next few months further examples will be introduced so that the complete service will be operated by these new technology buses. Route RV1 will become London's first zero-emission bus route.

The fleet of eight buses, designed specifically for Transport for London (TfL) by ISE, Wrightbus and Ballard, is the only one of its kind in the UK and the largest currently in operation in Europe.

The buses operate out of First's Lea Interchange Depot near Stratford in East London which is home to a permanent hydrogen refuelling station maintained by Air Products.

The new buses join the 27 hybrid buses in our London Fleet which with the other London operators make over 200 hybrid vehicles operating in London.

Transport for London stated in July 2012 that orders in place for further hybrid buses will take the total to over 400 during 2013. Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London, committed to introducing around another 1000 into service before 2016 of which 600 will be the New Bus for London design.

I hope you find what you are looking for and that your journey on any FirstGroup bus tram or train is an enjoyable and safe experience.
