Trains
Want to shoot off somewhere else in the UK? We can't throw you a leaving do every time, but we can help make your journey easier.
Whether you're studying in Portsmouth or Southampton our buses can pick you up from nearby Universities, colleges and halls of residence and drop you right outside the main railway stations at Southampton Central, Portsmouth & Southsea or Portsmouth Harbour (The Hard Interchange). Both cities have excellent train connections with the rest of the UK. If you don't believe us, have a look at their timetables here.
Boats
Being on the coast you're never far away from the sea and more importantly the docks to escape over the water, be it the Isle of Wight, mainland Europe or just a short hop to Gosport, Hythe or Hayling Island!
Bus services stop a short walk away from the Gosport Ferry at Gosport bus station and The Hard Interchange in Portsmouth. For Hayling Island catch route 15 or 16A from Portsmouth city centre direct to the ferry.
If travelling to the Isle of Wight you can catch the Red Funnel ferries from Town Quay in Southampton direct to Cowes – the 1/1A, 11/12, 16, 72 and 80 stop or short walk away in the High Street or jump on the free CityLink bus service from Castle Way direct to Town Quay. The passenger ferry to Hythe also departs from Town Quay.
From Portsmouth to the Isle of Wight catch the Wightlink ferry to Ryde, the passenger ferry departing from next to The Hard Interchange whilst the Hovercraft departs from Clarence Pier (catch 5/5A, 16A or X40 direct to Clarence Pier).
Off to mainland Europe by ferry? Services 5/5A, 41, 45/45A, 57/57A, X40, X41 and X42 all stop a short walk away from the ferry port entrance on Mile End Road, just ask the bus driver for Continental Ferry Port!
Coaches
Express coach services depart from Southampton, Portsmouth and Fareham to destinations across the UK.
