Children Under 5
Children under 5 travel free on First buses at any time of day – they must be accompanied by a fare paying passenger. A fare paying passenger can bring up to 3 children under 5 free of charge.
Children Aged 5-11
Children aged 5-11 are entitled to half the adult single fare at any time of day and can also purchase a FirstDayOut ticket. If you're under 11 but look older, you may save yourself time & hassle by getting a Young Person's photocard - see below for more information.
Young People Aged 11-18
If you're aged 11-18 you're entitled to half the adult single fare at any time of day and can also purchase a FirstDayOut ticket – but only if you hold a Young Person's or Scholar's permit.
Young Person's permits are available to anyone aged 11-16 and Scholar's permits to those aged 16-18 and in full time education.
You'll need a photograph, proof of your age and address to apply.
