Museums and Exhibitions
As an ancient city, it is not surprising that Leicester is host to a variety of museums/exhibitions and historic attractions. It is not just the past that Leicester's museums focus on, however places such as the Jewry Wall Museum and the Guildhall highlight the city's fascinating past.
Abbey Pumping Station
Leicester's museum of science and technology, the Abbey Pumping Station was first opened in 1891. Closed in the 1960's, it has since been restored and converted into one of the city's most famous museums.

The National Space Centre
An award-winning attraction, the Space Centre is the UK's largest visitor centre dedicated to space science and astronomy. The centre is home to five themed galleries, as well as several interactive exhibits. 'Not one to miss'.

Jewry Wall Museum
A museum of archaeology, the Jewry Wall Museum stands in the ruins of the Roman town's public baths. The wall itself is one of Leicester's most famous landmarks.

The Guildhall
Built in the 14th Century, the Guildhall is not only one of Leicester's oldest buildings, it is also a museum, performance venue and reputedly the city's most haunted building.

New Walk Museum & Art Gallery
Leicester's oldest museum displaying a wide range of collections including, Egyptians, Wild Space, The mighty Dinosaurs & Leicester's Fine Arts.

Belgrave Hall
Built in the 18 Century, this Victorian House shows the contrasting lifestyles of an upper middle class family, domestic servants and gardens with beautifully laid out natural room settings that give the feeling of having just missed the occupants out of the house.
