New fares from 16th December 2007

Adult

Adult single fares are those printed on the farechart. A maximum fare applies on Sundays and Holidays.

New Deal

Issued by Job Centres, for a maximum of one month, to people attending courses and training to get back to work.

The holder is entitled to half fare, including Day Villager tickets, on Essex County Council contracted services at all times.

Children

From age 5 – 15 inclusive are carried at half the adult fare, see farechart/calculator for details, at all times. Children under the age of 5 travel free of charge regardless of how many children accompany any one adult. A maximum fare applies on Sundays and Holidays.

Student Passes

Entitled Students, funded by the either a Local Education Authority or a College, have passes that are computer printed and the colour will change each year. A photocard is not required.

Contracted Local Bus Service Scholars Tickets

ECC have Scholars Termly and Annual Tickets, issued by County Hall, available on contracted services. They are valid for one return journey between the points shown on the ticket on school/college days only. They are not valid at weekends or during holidays. A photograph is included within the ticket.

Concessionary Passes and Tokens

Essex District Council’s concessionary passes are valid on all contracted services after 0900 Mondays to Fridays and all day Saturdays, Sundays, Bank and Public Holidays. Some services accept them before 0900 Mondays to Fridays – check farechart for details. Concessionary Passes issued by Cambridgeshire and Suffolk Councils, valid after 0900 Mondays to Fridays and all day Saturdays, Sundays, Bank and Public Holidays, are valid to the terminal point of cross boundary routes into Essex. The pass is only valid for a journey that starts or finishes in the County of issue.

Dogs

Dogs are permitted to travel free on County Council contracted services at the discretion of the driver with the exception of Guide Dogs and Hearing Dogs for the Deaf, which are to be carried other than in exceptional circumstances.
