New Hybrid Buses join First's London fleet
First's new Wrightbus hybrid double deck was one of a range of eco-friendly hybrid buses unveiled on 2nd December 2008 as part of the first stage in a major expansion of the Capital's hybrid bus fleet. Five new Wrightbus hybrid doubledecks will be entering service on Route 328 which runs between Golders Green and Chelsea.
Hybrid buses are cleaner and greener than their diesel counterparts. Their combination of a smaller conventional engine and an electric motor uses less fuel and is better for air quality as they emit fewer pollutants and reduce CO2 emissions by up to 40 per cent.
