Further Industrial Action on First Buses in London on Friday 10th October 2008
UPDATE: 10th October 11:00
Bus drivers who are members of Unite are on strike today Friday 10th October. The strike started at 0300 hours today and will continue for 24 hours. This follows previous strike action on 29th August and 12th/13th September.
This is affecting First's bus operations in west and east London.

London & Berkshire Managing Director Adrian Jones said:-
"We apologise to customers for the disruption caused by this further strike action."
The company's position is:-
- We are continuing to try to find ways to resolve this dispute but the union is not willing to return to discussions.
- Only a small proportion of the workforce (22%) voted yes to the strike.
- 3.5% is a very good offer in the current economic climate.
- Our drivers are already amongst the best paid in London and pay has risen by 34% in last 5 years.
- The company remains prepared to discuss additional pay, beyond the 3.5% offered, for any measures that would increase operational efficiency.
- We want our drivers to come back to work and stop losing money so we can get back to running a normal service.
First operates the following bus routes in London.
(Routes in Berkshire are not affected.)
