First has a starring role in Top Deck film
We are proud to have taken a role in helping a Salford youth group, known for creating award-winning community films, to create an award winning film using one of our new double deck buses as the set.
The Lower Kersal Young Peoples Group used the top deck of one of our buses for a recent filming project, which showed teenagers standing up to bullies, coping with pregnancy and administering first aid.
"We want to help young people develop and understand life issues, and we do this by creating community films,' said Tom Lever, Project Manager at the youth group.
"Its great experience for the 11 to 19 year olds who are involved in script-writing, filming and acting, and sends out positive messages to those who watch our films."
"Our inspiration for this particular project came from an episode of Eastenders which focused on three or four main characters at the tube station. Using a bus meant we could tell the stories of different passengers in a setting that many people can relate to.'
To support the project, We loaned a double-decker bus and driver to the youth club for a day.
Claire Johnson, Commercial Manager for First, said: "The Lower Kersal Young Peoples Group provides an important service to teenagers in the area. It allows budding drama students to develop their skills and we are pleased to support their latest project.'
