Greater Manchester

First in Manchester works in partnership with a number of different local authorities and in a number of areas.

First was a founding partner in the Greater Manchester Integrate Project – a partnership which brings together almost everyone involved in transport infrastructure, planning and provision for the Greater Manchester area.

Since 2005 the company has been actively involved in initiating Punctuality Improvement Partnerships with the 8 local highway authorities where we run significant route mileage. Bolton, Bury, Manchester, Rochdale, Salford, Tameside and Wigan Council have signed certificates to celebrate our Partnerships and it is expected that other authorities will follow soon.

We work closely with Greater Manchester Police and, at a local authority level, take part in a number of Safety and Security Partnerships designed to improve both actual and perceived safety of public transport.

We also work with local authorities that have active Travel Partnerships, offering bulk sales discounts and supporting promotional activities.
