NEW BUS SERVICES MAKE IT EASIER TO GET AROUND
From Monday 9 February, First is introducing two new services " numbers 29 and 99B.
New service 29 will operate every 20 minutes, Monday to Saturday daytime inclusive,
Between Fegg Hayes, Chell Heath, Bradeley, Smallthorne and City Centre Hanley. Its introduction is part of the further planned development of Firsts North Staffordshire network and it will provide customers with a frequent and convenient link to the City.
To mark the launch of service 29 there will also be a limited period, introductory fares promotion for the service. The single journey fare will be available at £1.20, with a day return priced at £1.70.
New service 99B will work in tandem with existing service 99 operating the route between Clayton, Newcastle, Tunstall and Biddulph. The introduction of new service 99B will increase frequency on the route between Clayton/Newcastle and Tunstall to every 20 minutes, Monday to Saturday daytime inclusive. From Tunstall, two services per hour " twice the current frequency - will route on to Biddulph, with service 99B operating on a new route along Furlong Road and St Michaels Road, to Chell.
Both services will be operated by easy access, low floor, buggy friendly buses, perfectly suited to meet the needs of the elderly and parents travelling with children.
Commercial director Paul De Santis said: "These new services and frequency enhancements are an important part of the ongoing development of our North Staffordshire network. We constantly monitor our commercial services to ensure that theyre meeting our customers needs and were committed to providing safe, economical and convenient services to help people get around the area.
