Stoke-on-Trent, the core of our Staffordshire operating area, grew with the ceramics industry and is still  known as The Potteries. Other major industries that played an important part in the growth of the City, but are no longer a feature, include coal mining and steel production.

Over the years, due to the decline of these major industries, North Staffordshire has become a centre for various different industries and today boasts diversity in both trade and ethnic population. Equally diverse are the areas many attractions.
