Aberdeen
Part time PCV driver agreements only
The following information details proposed arrangements for Part-Time drivers to operate within First in Aberdeen, with hourly rates of basic pay, and conditions of service similar to full-time staff on a pro-rata basis, including omo bonus, but excluding shift allowance.

Definitions:
Part-time duties: Work that would normally be worked during a Split or Late duty.
In addition, work after 1300 hours on a Saturday and Sunday, or by local agreement.
It is proposed that:
- Part-time duties will be constructed out of current or future work, to be completed by employees operating under a Contract of Employment whereby the hours are likely to be below 20 hours per week.
- Collective agreements with regards to pay and conditions will be similar to full-time drivers. Holidays will be earned proportionate to those of full-time employees, but will be pro-rata for the hours worked.
- Any work taken out of the full-time roster will not have any adverse effect on the accepted conditions of said roster. This is particularly important in respect of adverse effects on early or middle type duties.
- The removal of work from the full-time roster will not have an adverse effect on the day off patterns within the full-time roster.
- Should the need arise that work taken out for inclusion in the part-time roster has to be rescheduled within the full-time roster, this will only take place when all the part-time options have been exhausted, and a re-write of the receiving roster is necessary.
- Any work removed from the full-time roster for the construction of the part-time roster will be within the terms of these proposals (split or late duties). In addition, work after 1300 hours on a Saturday and Sunday, or by local agreement, or additional weekend work that would otherwise disrupt current weekend off patterns.
- All work transferred to the part-time roster shall be by individual agreement between the Company and TGWU representatives. Care will be taken to ensure that a balanced distribution of work removed is maintained, in line with the aims set out in clause 3 above.
- Where work is taken out of the full-time roster, it will not normally be replaced with similar type work, unless all avenues to cover that work within the part-time roster have been exhausted. If for example 5 split duties are taken off the main sheet and put onto the part time roster we would not, in their place, add another 5 "new" split duties to the main roster, therefore keeping us within the local agreement. In the event of a number of part-time drivers leaving, the company reserves the right to put split duties back onto the main duty sheet, within the current agreements, and after consultation with the TGWU.
- This agreement will be limited in the first instance to 20 part-time drivers. This figure may be increased following further negotiations between the Company and TGWU representatives.
- Implementation date for this agreement will be 16 October 2005.
- This agreement will be reviewed after a period of 12 month.
- Normal roster negotiations with the TGWU will continue to take place in the event of any planned roster changes.
- This agreement is subject to any limitations by statute, either current, or in the future.
- Part-time PCV drivers will receive holidays on a pro rata basis in accordance with employment law. Payment will be at time and a third, less shift allowance.
- Part time PCV drivers will receive Statutory Sick Pay but only if they qualify for this in accordance with employment law.
- Hourly Rate - New Starter Rate - £7.1534 per hour.
- Hourly Rate - OMO Rate (Existing PCV Licence Holder) - £8.1280 per hour.
