PERFORMANCE STATISTICS " PERIOD 9, 2008
It must be noted that both these measures were adversely affected by the two days strike action and overtime ban by driving and engineering staff during the period.
RELIABILITY
Target: First Aberdeen aims to meet the Government target of operating 99.5% of scheduled mileage.
During the five-week period ending 27th December 2008, First Aberdeen successfully operated 93.9% of scheduled mileage. A significant level of the lost mileage related to the industrial action during the period, with traffic congestion arising from major roadworks and diversions across Aberdeen City being the other main cause of lost mileage.
PUNCTUALITY
Target: First Aberdeen aims to meet the Traffic Commissioners target that 95% of journeys departing from their starting point within a window of ‘no more than one minute early or five minutes late.
This is a particularly demanding target, which often proves difficult for bus operators to meet. Nevertheless, whilst First Aberdeen recognises this target may sometimes be unachievable within the city, we are firmly committed to taking every reasonable step to achieve it.
Company surveys of reliability for the five-week period ending 27th December 2008 showed that 80% of journeys departed from their starting point within a window of ‘no more than one minute early or five minutes late.
As with reliability, industrial action during the period, traffic congestion, major roadworks and diversions across Aberdeen City Centre made achievement of this target particularly challenging.
