Transforming travel - Quality First

Aberdeen prides itself on its high standards, and continually tries to improve on these. We invest heavily in staff training with the aim of providing the highest standards of service excellence possible. Staff training is a continuous process, and applied equally to staff in all sections within our company. We believe that it is as important for our support staff to be as aware of the customers needs as our drivers and sales staff who are coming into regular contact with our customers. We encourage our staff to seek Scottish Vocational Qualifications, and many have already received these awards.

Our commitment to these high standards and to our staff resulted in our receiving Investors in People accreditation in 1995 - the first bus company in Scotland to do so. Our accreditation was confirmed when the company was reassessed in 1997 and is due to be reassessed again this year.

In addition, we were the first major bus company in Britain to receive the ISO 9002 accreditation, and a senior team meets regularly to ensure that standards are checked, and procedures are followed. External auditors from the British Standards Institute also check these every four months.

As a leader in the industry, it is perhaps not too surprising that we have picked up quite a few awards along the way. We were previous winners of the Bus Operator of the Year, and frequently do well in the Industry's national awards.

The Park and Ride service which we operate from the Bridge of Don to the north of the city since 1994 in partnership with Aberdeen City Council was chosen by the Royal Automobile Club as the best Park and Ride service in Scotland.

You can therefore see that when you are travelling with First, you have the comfort and reassurance that you are travelling with the best.
