Extended Bus Service to Glasgow Airport

Holidaymakers and business travellers heading to Glasgow Airport can now get a direct bus from the heart of the West End.

First launched its 747 Air Link service during the summer and has now extended the route up Byres Road to Botanic Gardens – offering regular buses every 30 minutes to the airport.

This fast and frequent service cuts both the hassle of taking the car to the airport and the cost of airport parking – which can all add up for those going on holiday.

Alex Shearer, Executive Director of First in Glasgow, said: “All travellers need to do is jump on a bus in the West End and arrive in plenty of time for their flight. The cash they save on parking can then be used to enjoy their holiday instead.

"For business travellers too, using this bus service means they can avoid the traffic and looking for a parking space, but simply pick up their briefcase and passport and taking the bus."

747 Air Link buses start at 6.00am Monday to Friday, 8.00am on Saturdays and 9.00am on Sundays. They leave from the bus stop next to the Botanic Gardens taxi rank. The last departure from the bus stance at Glasgow Airport is 10.33pm daily. The 747 Air Link also serves Southern General Hospital, IKEA, Braehead Shopping Centre, Xscape and Renfrew Cross.

Prices include a two-journey £2.50 ticket, £2.40 single journey, £3.00 FirstDay unlimited travel network wide ticket or the £1.60/£1.00 Child FirstDay ticket. These can be purchased on ANY route in our network and this entitles the passenger to travel through to Glasgow Airport on the 747 Air Link by joining at any bus stop served along the route.
