Glasgow Bus Drivers do Something Funny for Money

A red nose is usually a sign of a cold or flu, but for First bus drivers in Glasgow on Friday 13 March, it meant they were doing something funny for money and helping a very worthy cause.

7,000 First bus drivers across the UK, including the 2,000 plus drivers from First in Glasgow, supported Comic Relief by wearing red noses on Red Nose Day.

This was just one of a number of fundraising activities going on in First's bus operating companies throughout the UK in support of the event. Every penny raised will go to Comic Relief to help transform lives across Africa and the UK.

Executive Director of First in Glasgow, Alex Shearer, said: "First has a long-standing tradition of supporting terrific fundraising events like this and Comic Relief allows us to have a bit of fun, with our drivers wearing red noses while helping raise monies for a very worthwhile cause.

"This way we can show our passengers that we are supporting Red Nose Day and getting into the spirit of things by doing something funny for money, which is this year's Comic Relief theme.'
