601 reasons to hop on a bus to the shops

A new bus service is proving popular with shoppers and commuters alike thanks to Greater Glasgow's biggest bus operator.

First in Glasgow launched its new 601 service at the end of July, linking East Kilbride bus station, Clarkston, Silverburn and Hillington with Braehead and making it easier than ever before to get where you want to go, whether that's for work or leisure.

First's 601 service operates hourly between 6.30am and 6.30pm Monday to Friday, and 8.30am until 6.30pm on Saturdays. And with connections available from First's extensive network across Greater Glasgow and the surrounding areas, it really is the ideal way to get around.

What's more - First continues to offer the best value for money with an extensive range of FirstDay and FirstWeek tickets as well as FirstCard season tickets, that all provide the most convenient and affordable way to travel by bus.

Alex Shearer, Executive Director for First in Glasgow, said: "Providing transport links to work, retail and leisure opportunities is a fundamental part of what we do, and I am delighted that the introduction of service 601 is already proving popular in such a short space of time, benefiting our customers who wish to make use of the excellent facilities at East Kilbride, Silverburn and Braehead shopping centres.

"Public transport has to deliver for our passengers and with the quick and easy links now provided by this new service and the access available to our wider network, I hope even more people give our 601 service a try."
