Nightflyer - Terms and Conditions

General

  • Animals - Animals are not permitted to travel on board the service. The only exception to this is in the case of Assistance dogs. You must notify us of your wish to travel with an Assistance dog at the time of booking by calling 01698 717 154 (please note that the travel centre is closed on Sundays).
  • Delays - The Company accepts no responsibility for delays to services in terms of arrival or departure times. Customers are advised to allow for around 40 minutes connection time if connecting to other journeys.
  • Lost Tickets - The Company is not obliged to replace lost, mislaid or stolen tickets. You will be required to purchase a new ticket. If you have booked online you simply require your e-ticket reference number that can be found in your confirmation email or by contacting 01698 717 154.
  • Luggage - Baggage is limited to reasonable personal luggage. Snowboards and skis can be carried subject to space being available as can folded buggies and prams. Unfortunately the following items cannot be accommodated at any time:
    • Battery powered wheelchairs/disabled scooters;
    • Non folding buggies/prams; and
    • Non folding bicycles

First in Glasgow reserves the right to refuse travel to anyone failing to comply with the above luggage restrictions. Furthermore the Company accepts no liability for lost or damaged luggage carried on board the service.

Ticket Types

  • Apex Return Ticket - Apex return tickets must be booked at least one week in advance. Apex returns are offered at the same price for adults, children and concessions. The return journey must be specified at the time of booking and must be within four weeks of the outward journey. There are no restrictions on the day of travel with this ticket.
  • Fixed Return Ticket - A fixed return can be purchased at adult, child and concessionary rates. The return journey must be specified at the time of booking and must be within four weeks of the outbound journey.
  • Open Return Tickets - An open return ticket can be purchased at adult, child and concessionary rates. The return journey is valid for up to four weeks from the date of outbound travel and must be booked at least 24 hours in advance by calling 01698 717 154 (please note that returns can not be booked on Sundays).
  • Single Tickets - Single tickets are available at adult, child and concession fares.
  • Walk-up Tickets - When available, tickets may be purchased directly from the driver on the night of travel. These tickets are offered subject to availability and no guarantee of travel is possible. Fares will be as offered through other outlets.

Booking and Amends

  • Booking Tickets - Bookings can be made online at www.firstgroup.com/express, by calling 01698 717 154 or by visiting a designated ticket sales agent. A full list of agents can be found at the above web address (see also 'Walk-up Tickets'). Bookings can be made no more than 3 months in advance of travel.
  • Methods of Payment - Payment is accepted by cash or by major credit or debit cards (full list of credit or debit cards accepted may vary by booking method). Cheque payment is not accepted.
  • Refunds - Refunds are not given unless the service you are travelling on is cancelled by First in Glasgow when tickets should be returned to FAO Commercial Department, First in Glasgow, 197 Victoria Road, Glasgow, G42 7AD stating date of travel and person to whom the refund is required.
  • Changes to Bookings - Changes to bookings are permitted up to 48 hours prior to travel by calling 01698 717 154 (please note that bookings can not be changed on Sundays). No changes can be made online or through third party agents. A standard administration charge of £10 per person will be made to amend a booking.

Concessionary Fares and Children

  • Concessionary Fares - Concessionary fares are available to students, passengers of 60 or over and passengers with disabilities. (See Passengers with Disabilities, Passengers of 60 or over and Students for more details).
  • Passengers with Disabilities - Passengers with disabilities holding a transport entitlement card may travel at concessionary rate. For those passengers in possession of a 'companion' entitlement card their companion may also travel at the discounted rate. Please note that the vehicles operated on this service are not wheelchair accessible. Entitlement cards must be shown to the driver on boarding. First in Glasgow reserves the right to charge a fee of £5 prior to travel if this cannot be produced.
  • Passengers of 60 or over Passengers of 60 or over holding a transport entitlement card may travel at concessionary rate. Entitlement cards must be shown to the driver on boarding. First in Glasgow reserves the right to charge a fee of £5 prior to travel if this cannot be produced.
  • Children of under 3 years old - Children of under 3 years old travel free of charge but must travel on the knee of an accompanying adult. If you require a separate seat for your child you must book a ticket as appropriate.
  • Children of 3-15 years old - Children of 3 years or over must travel on their own seat and will be charged a child fare where appropriate (see Apex Return Ticket). Child fares are available for all children up to 15 years of age. Only three children may travel per accompanying adult. Children of 14 years or over may travel unaccompanied while children of under 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult of 16 years or over (proof of age in both cases may be required).
  • Students Students may travel at the concessionary rate however a valid student card must be shown to the driver on boarding. First in Glasgow reserves the right to charge a fee of £5 prior to travel if this cannot be produced.
