A single ticket can be purchased on the bus. Tell the driver where you want to go and pay your fare using cash.
If you’re coming back the same day ask for a return ticket. You can make big savings on the price of two singles although sometimes there are time restrictions.
Two children under the age of 5 and accompanied by an adult are carried free at all times, providing they only occupy one seat at busy times. A child fare is available to passengers from the age of 5 years and over, but under 16 years, except where the child journey commences before 0900 hrs Monday to Friday and the Adult fare is £2.40 or over. In such circumstances the adult fare is charged. A photocard for children to prove their age can be obtained free of charge from Travel Shops at Unit 3, Dukes Walk, Duke Street, Chelmsford (01245 263 859) and Queen Street, Colchester (01206 572 478) or First depots at London Road, Hadleigh (South Essex) and Cherrydown, Basildon (phone 01268 52 52 51 for details).

Dogs and other inoffensive animals will be carried free of charge at the discretion of the driver providing they are accompanied by a fare paying passenger.
