Change tickets are changing - and can now be claimed on bus again
In 2008, we found that an increasing number of "change tickets" were being forged and took the necessary decision that customers could only redeem them at Travel Shops, where they could be more easily checked.
We have now introduced tickets which contain more security measures, making it far more difficult to produce forgeries. Drivers can now check if tickets are genuine using UV torches.
We have listened to feedback from customers and decided that from Sunday 7 February, we will accept change tickets on bus as payment towards a fare. This will be for a trial period of six months and we will continue to monitor the situation. Change tickets can still also be redeemed at Travel Shops.
- Tickets are valid for 14 days and have an expiry date printed on the top
- They can only be issued up to a value of £5
- You can use more than one change ticket to pay towards your journey (this may add up to more than £5)
- If you wish to exchange your change ticket for cash, please visit one of our Travel Shops
Change tickets issued before 7 February will also be accepted on bus, if they are within the expiry date printed on the ticket.
