Punctuality and Reliability figures for First Bristol covering period 25th August - 29th September:
Punctuality: 85.1 %
Reliability 97.9 %
Here are some of the following issues that affected First services during this period of monitoring. These issues relate to circumstances beyond the control of the driver such as road works, accidents and disturbances on board the vehicles.
From August 25th - September 30th the following delays applied:
Ongoing work along the A420 corridor, St George caused delays of varying degrees throughout the period. Affected services were the 41, 43, 44, 45, X67, and 332. There were also four - way temporary signals at the junction of Chalks Road and Church Road related to the work on the A420. Services 6 and 7 were affected by a temporary signal on Russell Town Avenue for traffic management works. There has also been ongoing work on Bath Road/ Callington Road junction causing long delays in the area. This affected services 36, 339, X39 and the 904.
On specific dates the following problems occurred in August:
25th - Service 8 was delayed because of anti-social behaviour on board the vehicle. There was heavy congestion reported by drivers on the A38 in the Horfield area.
26th - Service 73 was delayed because of a disturbance on the bus.
27th - Service 75 at Cribbs Causeway was delayed because a dog was unwell and the bus required cleaning, before it could continue in service.
28th - Service X7 was delayed because of a fallen telegraph pole that blocked the road. The buses could not turn and there were severe delays to all Clevedon and Nailsea services. There was also congestion in the Filton and Horfield areas due to a football match.
29th - Service 77 was delayed on Hawkfield Road in Hartcliffe as the road was closed in both directions due to a road traffic incident. Service 76 at Bishopsworth was delayed because a passenger unfortunately fainted and our driver called an ambulance.
There were severe delays in the Brislington area mainly due to work being carried out at the junction with Callington Road on the A4.
30th - Service 52 at Highridge Common was delayed because of access problems due to inconsiderate and illegal parking.
31st " There was heavier than normal congestion throughout the evening peak. There were also delays in the area surrounding the A4/Callington Road works.
On specific dates the following problems occurred in September:
1st " Congestion in the Horfield and Filton areas due to the Bristol Rovers home game.
Service 51 at Temple Meads was delayed because a window was smashed and the glass had to be cleared away and the vehicle pulled out of service for immediate repair.
3rd " Services were delayed in Bristol City Centre as traffic signals were out. Service 75 was delayed as a passenger refused to stop smoking on the bus.
6th - Service 49 at Emersons Green was delayed after a passenger fell ill on the bus. The vehicle had to be cleaned for the benefit of other passengers.
14th - There were delays on the A38 northbound by Filton college due to a road traffic incident. The road was reduced to a single lane. There were delays in the Broadmead area due to the redevelopment work.
16th - Service 89 at Newquay Road in Knowle was closed off due to a road traffic incident.
18th " Nelson Street closed due to unforeseen difficulties with the road surface. An incident on Redcliffe Hill closed the inbound section with all affected services being temporarily diverted via Temple Meads.
26th " There were long delays throughout the day in the Bedminster Down area due to roadworks. There were significant delays in the Eastgate and M32 area.
28-30th - There were long delays throughout the day in the Bedminster Down area. Longer than normal delays in the West Town lane/Callington Road and Bath Road area throughout the day. Three-way traffic signals on Fishponds Road/Royate Hill junction caused significant delays in the general area throughout the day.
30th - Delays at Cherry Gardens due to inconsiderate parking.
