Punctuality and Reliability figures for First Somerset & Avon covering period 25th August - 29th September:


Punctuality: 92.14 %
Reliability : 99.60 %

Here are some of the following issues that affected First services during this period of monitoring. These issues relate to circumstances beyond the control of the driver such as road works, accidents and disturbances on board the vehicles.

From August 25th - September 29th the following delays applied:

Throughout the period the road works on Church Road, St George, Bristol caused varying delays to Services 332 and 635.
Townsend, Shepton Mallet remained closed with consequent diversions, this closure is liable to last 22 weeks.
Moor Lane, Weston-super-Mare remained closed and Service 14 was diverted via Worle Moor Lane.
A371 still closed at Darshill. Services 161 and 162 are diverted via Old Wells Road and a shuttle bus is being provided between Wells, Dinder and Croscombe.

On specific dates the following problems occurred in August:


27th " The traffic lights were not working on the ASDA roundabout, Weston-super-Mare. Heavy traffic in the Oldmixon area of Weston, delays of up to 30 minutes to services 7 and 112. Traffic at a standstill on the M5 around Weston-super-Mare.
28th - for six weeks The A371 closed at Darshill. Services 161 and 162 diverted via Old Wells Road ans a shuttle bus was provided between Wells, Dinder and Croscombe.
28th - There were delays on the Wells Road in Bristol caused by a lane closure.
31st " Heavy traffic in Taunton caused delays to services. There was also heavy traffic on all routes in and out of Bath especially Warminster Road and London Road.

On specific dates the following problems occurred in September:

1st " Traffic was heavy on the M5 and the A370. The A38 was closed at Rumwell Farm following an accident and Services 22, 22A, 92 and 92A were diverted via the M5.
2nd " Road works at Brislington delayed services 178, 349 and X39.
4th " Re-surfacing works on Rhode Lane, Bridgwater caused by delays to Service 1. Delays on the A370 following an accident.
5th - Ongoing road works at Warminster and Westbury caused delays to services X4 and X5.
6th - A one way traffic system was put into place on Wincanton High Street following an accident and services 58 and 58A were diverted via the A303. Devizes Market Place was closed following an accident.
7th " There was an accident on the A38 between Pawlett and West Huntspill which caused delays to services 21 and 21A. The M5 Northbound was at a standstill.
8th " September for 4 weeks Old Fosse Road in Bath is closed with service 14 being diverted.
9th - Bristol City centre closed for the Half-Marathon.
10th " 12th " Deane Drive in Taunton was closed for road works and Service 4 was diverted. There were delays in Trowbridge caused by road works.
17th " St Marys street, Bridgewater closed all day causing delays to services 1, 2, 14, 21 and 21A. A contraflow was working on the A30 between Yeovil and Sherborne causing delays to Services 57, 58 and 58A.
17th - for 3 months Worston Road in Highbridge closed and service 113 will divert via Clover Way.
18th " Traffic chaos in Bath resulting from the University open day.
20th -A contraflow was working on the A30 between Yeovil and Sherborne causing delays to Services 57, 58 and 58A.
26th - Heavy traffic in Taunton delayed services 21 and 21A.
28th - A lane closure on the M5 spread to Banwell causing very long delays to services 121 and 126. West Street in Bridgwater closed all day for Bridgwater Fair. Service 2 diverted and delays caused to other services in the town.
