Better buses for service 7 in Weston-super-Mare

First is celebrating the introduction of better buses on the 7 service in Weston-super-Mare, Worle and Oldmixon.

Ten better buses - up to six years newer than those previously running on the route - boast easier access for passengers, lower emissions and brighter interiors.

The number 7 will have a team of dedicated drivers shared with the X1 route, so that passengers can expect a friendly service.

The buses, which will all go on the road in the coming weeks, have a distinctive balloon branding. To celebrate, drivers held a balloon release on Weston-super-Mare High Street, with prizes of a months free travel on First buses in Weston for whoever finds one of seven balloons with special lucky tags*.

Justin Davies, Managing Director of First Bristol, Somerset & Avon, said, "We are delighted to have been able to introduce these newer buses on the 7 route in Weston. With dedicated drivers, fresher interiors and better access, we hope customers will enjoy using the service.'

Passengers can also benefit from a special promotion on services 5 and 7 in Weston.

Until 11 October, passengers can buy a FirstFlex 10 ticket, which gives 10 single journeys, for £10. The ticket is valid for 28 days from the date of purchase.
