Taunton driver is a Superstar
First bus driver Diane Petty has been named a 'Superstar' by Taunton passengers.
Diane, who drives Services 1, 1A and 4 in Taunton, was nominated for the award by three customers in just one month for her friendly and helpful service.
On the day of the award, another customer wrote in to thank Diane for helping her when she left her travel pass on the bus, by going to the trouble of looking her up in the phone book and ringing her to let her know it had been found.
Comments about Diane on the nomination forms include, 'she is so patient and understanding with her passengers, 'she has a smile for all', and 'she is always polite, friendly and helpful, it is a real pleasure to see her'.
Superstars is a monthly scheme that allows First customers and colleagues to nominate staff for good service.
Diane, who lives in Holway, has been a driver with First for four years.
Taunton Operations Manager Pete McNaughton said, " We are always grateful when customers take the time to nominate staff for Superstars, and we are delighted that Diane has been picked. She is a worthy winner and thoroughly deserves this recognition. We value our passengers and our staff, and the Superstars nominations are very enlightening and heartwarming."
Bristol's monthly winner was Hengrove driver Grzegorz Ksiazczyk who was nominated for his part in helping reunite a passenger with £3,000 she left on his bus.
