Superstar staff in Bristol and Taunton

Ashley Watts

Taunton Bus Station worker Ashley Watts has been named a 'Superstar'.

Ashley, 54, a general service operative with bus company First, was nominated for the award by colleagues for his hard work keeping the bus station clean and tidy.

Comments about Ashley on the nomination forms include, 'never has the bus station looked so clean and tidy and it's all due to Ashley...windows sparkle, floors gleam', 'we get praised on how clean and tidy the bus station is...he is always pleasant and helpful to customers'.

Superstars is a monthly scheme that allows First customers and colleagues to nominate staff for good service.

Ashley, who lives in Norton Fitzwarren, used to be a driver with First and has been with the company eight years. As a GSO he is responsible for the bus station's offices, public and vehicle areas. He also helps move vehicles around the bus station and with servicing.

Business Manager Jon Miller says, "Ashley is a really worthy winner. He works hard in all weathers and always has a smile for everyone. He does a great job and we all benefit as a result, both customers and staff."

Hengrove driver Mike Jones was picked as winner for Bristol for 'going the extra mile' to help passengers when snow disrupted services.

Comments included 'he was courteous, thoughtful, helpful and conscientious about custoemr safety...he is an excellent ambassador for First'.
