Cut price bus ticket given the thumbs up by Oxjam organisers

IN a bid to encourage those people going to Oxjam Bristol events on Sunday 25 October to travel by sustainable means, First Bristol has teamed up with Oxjam organisers to offer gig-goers a 50 pence discount on the price of a FirstDay bus ticket.
For those wanting to travel to and from, and between, the seven Oxjam venues in the city, FirstDay tickets (which allow unlimited bus travel over the course of a day) offer the perfect solution.
The offer is only valid for those with valid Oxjam tickets on presentation of a special First / Oxjam voucher (available from Oxjam organisers when you purchase gig tickets, from Thursday 22 October. Vouchers will also be available on the day at each of the venues).
Managing Director of First Bristol, Somerset and Avon, Justin Davies explains: "The seven Oxjam venues are spread across the city, but they are all very accessible by bus, and the FirstDay ticket will allow gig goers the opportunity to travel between them, getting on and off as often as they want to.
"We hope that the Oxjam gig goers will take advantage of this offer " enjoying the opportunity to travel for a reduced price.
"As a company we are 100% committed to reducing our environmental impact, reducing, reusing and recycling as much of our waste as possible, and cutting our carbon emissions by 25% by 2010 as part of our own climate change strategy.'
Tom McKenzie, Oxjam Regional Manager " Bristol, says: "As well as being about great music, the Oxjam events are designed to create an awareness of climate change. Over recent weeks hundreds of music lovers in Bristol have been coming together as Oxfam campaigners, staging and supporting many genres of diverse and vibrant music. This all culminates with a one day showcase of the best that Bristol has to offer on Sunday 25 October. We approached First a couple of weeks ago to see if they could help us making travelling between the different venues easier for music fans, and they agreed. Whats even better is that one of their buses, The Chipper, which regularly operates on one of the main bus routes to the venues, Service 73, is carbon neutral running on 100% biodiesel from waste cooking oil, and so is a great form of transport for our ecologically minded music fans.'
FirstDay tickets bought on Sundays normally cost £4 (off peak rate) but with the special First / Oxjam voucher customers will be able to buy them for just £3.50.*
Only original vouchers will be accepted (no photocopies).
