Changes to services in Bath and North East Somerset and Wiltshire from 29 June

Service 20A Bath Circular Service

Responding to customer feedback, we are re-routing the 1530 journey to serve Purlewent Drive in Weston village. This will give residents a later departure from Bath.

Service 231 / 232 Bath - Chippenham

To improve the reliability of these services, we are adding an extra bus and changing the timetable to increase the time allowed for the journey. In addition, the services are being re-routed to travel via Batheaston and Chippenham Railway Station.

Service X71 / X72 Bath - Urchfont
The timetables of these services are also changing to improve reliability. The services will be renumbered to 271, 272 and 273 and the route of Service X72 will be changing beyond Devizes.


In order to provide the vehicles and staff for these improvements, First will no longer operate:

Service 175 Bath - Midsomer Norton
(4 journeys per day)

Service 228 Bath - Colerne
(approximately every 2 hours)

This decision has been made after careful consideration but reflects the low number of people using these services. The majority of the route of Service 175 is covered by other services 173, 178 and 184 " and we have also extended one afternoon journey to Paulton on Service 178.
