Changes to Services X84 and 99 in Bristol from 29 June

After careful consideration First will be withdrawing the X84 and 99 services in Bristol on 29 June 2008. These services run between the City Centre and UWE. Service X84 runs via the M32, Service 99 runs via Whiteladies Road, Redland and Gloucester Road.

Customer demand on these services has declined for some time. As a commercial bus company we are unable to support these loss making services, which put undue financial pressure on other parts of our network. We need to concentrate our resources most effectively for the majority of our customers.

The vast majority of students have good alternatives via:

First Service 70 which goes to UWE via Ashley Down
Ulink services operated by Wessex Connect, U1, U2, U3, U4
