Filton Avenue - Roadworks affecting services 70 and 73 from 13 July - October 2009

There are major roadworks shortly planned on Filton Avenue between Station Road and Stanley Avenue. Traffic will be allowed to travel as normal from the city towards Filton, but part of Filton Avenue will be closed to all vehicles in the opposite direction.

This means that buses towards the City Centre will be diverted to travel along Station Road, Gloucester Road North and then Wessex Avenue before joining the existing route on Filton Avenue. South Gloucestershire Council will be providing a free shuttle bus which will provide a link to our services up to every 30 minutes (20 minutes at peak times) during the main part of the day (Mon-Sat).

A map of the diversion and shuttle bus route is attached at the bottom of this page.

Please note Filton Avenue will be totally closed on Sunday 12 July in both directions. Buses will follow the diversion above in both directions and will run to our normal timetable as far as possible. First apologises for any delays.

When will your buses go?

The timetables of Services 70 and 73 will be affected towards the city centre only. Most journeys will start up to 5 minutes earlier from UWE or Cribbs Causeway, and run earlier along the route and diversion, until Filton Avenue / Lockleaze Road. Buses will then run to our normal timetable from this point onwards.

Shown below are the normal times that our buses depart from UWE (service 70) or Cribbs Causeway (Service 73). Please refer to your normal timetable and take away the number of minutes shown to find out the new departure time of your bus towards Bristol City Centre during the roadworks.
