We have services operating across the two counties in areas including Penzance, Camborne, Falmouth, Newquay, St Austell, St Ives, Lands End, Truro, Torpoint, Bude, Plymouth, Plymstock, Saltash, Ivybridge, Tavistock, Torbay, Totnes, Dartmouth, Bideford, Ilfracombe, Westward Ho! and Barnstaple.

First in Devon & Cornwall also operate the Park and Ride services across Plymouth.

First is committed to continue to improve and deliver a safe, reliable and punctual service to it’s customers across Devon & Cornwall.

In the past 2 years more than £5 million has been invested in 56 new buses to upgrade bus services across First in Devon and Cornwall and demonstrates the company’s commitment to delivering better public transport in the region. To further improve the quality of public transport in Devon & Cornwall First have introduced new low floor easy access buses. A total of 42 low floor, easy access buses have come into the Devon & Cornwall fleet replacing the old double and single deckers. First’s network of bus services in Plymouth city is now nearly entirely low floor operation, making buses easier to use for everyone, but especially the elderly, parents with buggies, and disabled users.

A fleet of nine new ultra modern double decker buses were introduced in partnership with Plymouth City Council on The George and Milehouse Park and Ride services in January 2007. These buses are some of the most environmentally friendly double deckers in Europe and are fitted with Euro IV engines, the cleanest diesel engines currently on the market. These new Park and Ride buses are state-of-the-art double deckers, with leather seats, extended leg room, travellers the information they need, when they want it. Television news bulletins are also on their way and will be shown to customers on the four TFT television screens fitted on each bus.

The delivery of the new buses has brought the average age of the bus fleet down to 7.9 years, below the Department for Transport’s target of 8 years.
