A week's travel on any ugobus service in Plymouth for just £5 from 25th October
From Sunday 25 October, for two weeks, people in Plymouth will be able to travel around the city for less than half price as First Devon and Cornwall has slashed the price of the FirstWeek bus pass to just £5 (saving £9 on the standard price).
FirstWeek Plymouth tickets, which can be bought direct from the driver, offer users unlimited travel; they are ideal for those wanting to travel for work or leisure, eliminating the need buy individual tickets every time you board the bus, and offering significant savings on the price of standard single and return fares.
The reduced price FirstWeek Plymouth ticket is being offered as part of a special two week promotion designed to celebrate the arrival of four new UGOBUS routes in the city. It follows a two week promotion whereby customers using the new UGOBUS services (Services 12, 13, 15 and 17) were able to travel for just £1 per single journey, regardless of destination.
The £5 FirstWeek Plymouth ticket can be bought on any UGOBUS Service using a special voucher available from the companys website, adverts in local newspapers or special flyers that are being door dropped to 62,000 homes in the city. Once bought, the ticket can be used for travel on any First Devon and Cornwall bus in the city (zone extends to Southway and Roborough in the north, Plympton and Chaddlewood in the east, Staddiscombe and Torpoint in the south and Saltash and Burraton in the west). The flyers also contain vouchers offering older people, who already travel for free using concessionary passes, a free cup of tea or filter coffee at House of Fraser in Plymouth* ensuring they feel rewarded for using UGOBUS services too.
Managing Director of First Devon and Cornwall, Marc Reddy, says: "In these cash-strapped times we think customers will relish the opportunity to cut their travel costs to just £5 a week.
"The promotion will run for two weeks, this gives people plenty of opportunities to try our services, see the extent of our network, and feel the saving in their pocket. Those swapping the car for the bus will also cut their carbon footprint if they make the move to more sustainable forms of transport.
"We hope our older customers will also make good use of the free tea or coffee promotion; this is our thank you to them for using our services.'
