Punctuality and Reliability - how we are doing.
Punctuality and Reliability Data between 27th September and 24th October 2009
'Reliability'
The ‘reliability' measure shows how many services were operated over a period of time. This figure is derived on our comprehensive knowledge of all cancellations, and is therefore a very accurate measure. Our aim is to run 100% of our scheduled services.
‘Punctuality'
The ‘punctuality' score is an indication of how often buses run to time. The Traffic Commissioner (the bus industrys regulatory authority) considers the timekeeping of bus services is acceptable if they arrive at all points on a route no more than one minute early or five minutes late. This is also the standard we use.
To measure our punctuality we monitor our services at a wide range of locations across Devon and Cornwall, including at terminal points and mid route. We use a range of data sources including information captured electronically, and by direct observation by Company officials.
We believe our punctuality figure is truly representative of the experience our passengers face, but it is derived from a sampling process.
Our aim is to achieve 95% punctuality, and we are taking a range of measures, in conjunction with our local authority partners, to improve our current scores.
27th September to 24th October 2009
We operated 99.5% of scheduled services and 88.4% of services ran to time
