Changes to Tavy Linx service 83/84/86 from Sunday 28th September 2008

First would like to inform passengers that following a competitive tendering exercise by Devon County Council, journeys north of Tavistock to Okehampton, Torrington, Bideford and Barnstaple will no longer be operated by First as from Sunday 28th September.

The Plymouth to Tavistock section of the route will continue to be operated by First. First will continue to provide four buses per hour between Tavistock and Plymouth including the fast direct journeys on Service 83. Slight changes to this timetable have been made in order to improve reliability at busy times. The Sunday service will continue to be operated by First under contract to Devon County Council, this service will continue to operate hourly between Plymouth and Tavistock but will no longer serve Greenlands Estate.

The new service between Tavistock, Okehampton, Torrington and Barnstaple provided on behalf of Devon County Council will be operated by Beacon Bus. Full details of the new timetable will be contained within the Devon County Council West Devon timetable book that can be obtained by calling 01392 382800. Connections between the two services can no longer be guaranteed, however customers wishing to purchase one ticket for both services can continue to use the FirstDay South West ticket.
