Service Changes in Devon & Cornwall from Sunday 27th September 2009

Changes to Services in Cornwall

Following a competitive retendering exercise with Cornwall Council the following services will be subject to change. For details of services that are no longer operated by First please contact Traveline on 0871 200 22 33.

Service 1/1A Penzance to Lands End
The Timetable for this service has been revised. Some journeys at peak times will now be provided by another operator under contract to Cornwall Council. Customers with First return tickets can use these tickets on journeys financially supported by Cornwall Council.

Service 2/2A/2B Penzance - Helston - Falmouth
The timetable for this service has been changed in order to improve connections between Penzance, Porthleven, Helston, Truro, Tremough and Falmouth. Most journeys will now continue to and from Penzance to either Truro and Falmouth. Service 22 St Austell to St Dennis
Most journeys on this service will be provided by another operator. First will continue to provide a peak time journey between St Austell, St Dennis and Truro Monday to Friday and on Truro College Days towards Truro in the morning and from Truro in the afternoon. Service 24 St Austell to Lostwithiel will no longer be operated by First.

Service 25B/26B Mevagissey to St Austell and Fowey (Evenings and Sundays only)will no longer be operated by First. Return tickets and season tickets purchased on First Devon & Cornwall services can be used on Replacement services operating evenings and Sundays further timetable information is available from Traveline 0871 200 22 33

Buses between Truro and Trelander Estate operated as Service 40 will be provided by another operator. First continue to operate Service 40 between Truro, St Day, Redruth, Illogan and Camborne with a revised timetable under contract to Cornwall Council. Buses between Truro and Camborne will now operate on the opposite half hour in order to provide more equally spaced journeys to and from St Day. Journeys that only operate between Camborne and Redruth have been modified to serve Treswithian and Redruth Tescos and will now operated as Service 40A. Journeys operated evening and Sundays will now be Service 40B. Service 50/51 Truro to St Mawes will no longer be operated by First. Service 950 to Truro College is unchanged.

Service 181 Liskeard to Torpoint will no longer be operated by First.

Service 400 Truro - Falmouth - Maenporth will no longer be operated by First.

Buses between Callington and Bude operated as Service 76 will no longer be operated by First. First continue to operate Service 76 between Launceston/Callington and Plymouth with a revised timetable.

Sunday buses between Bude, Okehampton and Exeter as Service X9 will no longer be operated by First.

Service 319 between Bude and Hartland will no longer be operated by First.

Other changes to Services in Cornwall

Service 17/17A Penzance to St Just and Penzance to St Ives.
The timetable has been changed evenings and Sundays so that buses no longer serve St Ives Holiday Village for the Winter period.

Service X18 Express Service between Penzance and Truro.
In order to improve the reliability and offer more seats at busy times on this service, the timetable has been revised. Please refer to new timetables available from your local travel shop or online at www.firstgroup.com by clicking on 'forthcoming timetables' within the left hand 'timetables' menu prior to travelling on some journeys now depart earlier. In order to provide bigger buses on this route most journeys will no longer serve St Erth Village.

Service 25 St Austell to St Blazey, Par and Fowey.
The timetable for this service has been revised in order to provide buses between St Austell and Fowey every 30 minutes Monday to Friday and every 60 minutes on Saturdays. Journeys during the evening and Sunday period will now be provided by another operator, further timetable information is available from Traveline 0871 200 22 33.

Service 27 Royal Cornwall Hospital to Truro, Probus and St Austell
The timetable for this service has changed for further information please refer to new timetables available from your local travel shop or online at www.firstgroup.com by clicking on 'forthcoming timetables' within the left hand 'timetables' menu. We will be providing two journeys per hour between Truro, Tresillian and Probus Monday to Friday at roughly half hourly intervals as from 27th September.

Services 83/84 Truro City to Malpas
The timetable during the afternoon Monday to Saturday has been revised in order to improve reliability.

Services 85/85A Truro to St Agnes
The timetable for this service has been changed in order to improve reliability.

Services 88/88B Royal Cornwall Hospital to Truro and Falmouth
The timetable for this service has been changed in order to improve reliability.

Services 93/95 Truro City Services and to Feock
The timetables for these services are subject to minor alterations. Please refer to new timetables available from your local travel shop or online at www.firstgroup.com by clicking on 'forthcoming timetables' within the left hand 'timetables' menu.


Changes to Services in North Devon and the Plymouth area

The timetables for the following services will be subject to change, please refer to new timetables available from your local travel shop or online at www.firstgroup.com by clicking on 'forthcoming timetables' within the left hand 'timetables' menu

Service 1/2 North Devon Hospital to Barnstaple, Bideford and Westward Ho!/Appledore
Buses between Barnstaple and Bideford continue to operate every 10 minutes Monday to Friday, with extensions to the Hospital every 30 minutes and extensions from Bideford to Westward Ho! and Appeledore every 30 minutes. On Saturdays the frequency between Barnstaple and Bideford will now be every 15 minutes, but the frequencies along other sections of the route remain the same.

Service 3/4 Barnstaple to Braunton and Ilfracombe
Buses between Barnstaple and Braunton continue to operate every 15 minutes Monday to Friday. On Saturdays Service 3 to Ilfracombe will continue to operate every 30 minutes and Service 4 will now operate every 60 minutes between Barnstaple and Braunton West Meadow Road. The Monday to Friday 1745 service 3 departure to Ilfracombe will now terminate at Braunton West Meadow Road and will operate as Service 4.

Service 5 Barnstaple to Landkey and South Molton
The Summer Sunday service provided on behalf of Devon County Council has been withdrawn for the winter period.

Service 81/81A/81C Derriford Hospital - Plymouth - Torpoint - Cremyll
The timetable for this service has been completely revised. Buses will continue to operate every 15 minutes Monday to Friday between Plymouth and Torpoint. Following requests some journeys will now operate via Union Street to provide quicker journeys to the City Centre. Also following requests more buses will now serve Great Park. Buses to Cremyll continue to operate roughly every hour, and buses to Derriford Hospital will now operate every 2 hours. Customers with FirstDay tickets however can transfer on to Ugobus services 7 and 15 on Royal Parade that provide 8 journeys per hour to Derriford Hospital.

Service 82 Plymouth to Exeter across Dartmoor.
The Winter operation of this service has been introduced.

Service 303 Barnstaple to Woolacombe
Additional journeys operated by First under contract to Devon County Council for the summer period have been withdrawn.
