Tour of Britain Cycle Run affecting First services in Bideford & Barnstaple Thursday 17th September 2009

In Bideford

Services 1 & 2 will be unable to serve Bideford Quay & Old Barnstaple Road bus stops from 0500 -1900. During this time all services from Barnstaple will follow their normal route to Westleigh straight before diverting over Bideford Torridge Bridge following Kingsley Road to Bideford Pill Car Park where temporary bus stops will be situated.

Services from Westward Ho! & Appledore will follow their normal route towards Bideford before turning in Bideford Pill Car Park heading back out of Bideford via Kingsley Road and Torridge Bridge before picking up their normal route at Westleigh Straight.

In Barnstaple

Services 1 & 2 may be unable to use normal line of route in and out of Barnstaple between 1300-1500 when there are road blocks put in place to allow the cyclists to pass (these will be at undetermined times based on when the cyclists arrive) When unable to serve normal line of route these services will be diverted via Eastern Avenue to the Link Road & Western By-Pass before picking up normal line of route on Sticklepath Hill. However when diverted these services will be unable to serve the bus stop at the bottom of Sticklepath Hill (Railway Station stop)

Service 2 in Barnstaple may also be unable to serve North Devon Hospital at times between 1300-1500 when there are road blocks put in place to allow the cyclists to pass (these will be at undetermined times based on when the cyclists arrive)

Service 3, 4 & 303 may be unable to serve Boutport Street, Green Lanes & Fair View at infrequent times between 1300-1500 - once again this will depend on the road blocks put in place and when the cyclists arrive. When unable to serve these points services will be diverted via Eastern Avenue to the Link Road Western By-pass and Barnstaple Long Bridge before picking up normal line of route at Pottington.

It is anticipated that during the day some services will be delayed and some services may not run.All delays will be kept to a minimum. First apologise for any inconvenience caused due to circumstances beyond our control.
