Pompey Football Park & Ride

First Hampshire & Dorset will be putting on a premier service this season to support footie fans wanting to see the South Coast's only Premier League Football Side, Portsmouth FC. Having teamed up with the City Council, the club has arranged for Park and Ride facilities to be provided from the IBM Lakeside North Harbour site for all weekend home matches during the 2009/10 season. The move is expected to help cut traffic congestion in the lead up to matches; it follows a successful trial of Park and Ride services earlier this year.

From Saturday 15th August, Park and Ride services will be provided by First Hampshire & Dorset. Buses will travel directly to the ground from Lakeside, North Harbour " starting with this Saturdays game against Fulham, a 3pm kick-off.

The park and ride service costs just £2.50 per car (up to seven passengers).

The first bus will leave Lakeside, North Harbour at 12pm, with buses leaving at frequent intervals to Fratton Park until 2pm when the last bus will leave North Harbour.

The pick-up and drop-off point for Fratton Park is the bus stop on Goldsmith Avenue outside Lidl.

The first bus leaves Fratton Park back to North Harbour at 5pm with the last at 7pm.

The bus times follow the same pattern for Saturday and Sunday matches that kick off at other times.

The service is not yet available for midweek fixtures.

Getting to Lakeside, North Harbour:

From the west: The park and ride is just off junction 12 of the M27. Follow the park and ride signs to Lakeside, North Harbour, using Western Road.

From the east: Leave the A27 at the Cosham/Hilsea turn-off. At the roundabout take the second exit towards Fareham, using Western Road. Follow the park and ride signs to Lakeside, North Harbour.
