Original reason for Nomination
Mr Ahmad observed the girl being knocked down from his cab; he secured the bus, called for an ambulance and stayed with the girl, looking after her and helping her maintain consciousness until help arrived. He did this despite a fellow colleague leaving the scene.
The incident occurred in a predominately white area, where racism has been known to be an issue, however Mr Ahmad put the girl's needs before his own; particularly as it could have appeared to passers by that he was the perpetrator.
