Shaun has been employed by First since 21st August 2006 when he joined as a Trainee bus driver. We consider Shaun's actions embraced the safety culture promoted within First and as a result nominated Superstar of the Year in Cymru.
Shaun had observed a member of the public walking across the reversing area of the bus station. Realising there could be a potential accident; he took responsibility of the situation and acted in a safe, calm and professional manner in avoiding it. He signalled to the driver of the bus parked in the bays that remained on their stands, and then he approached the gentleman and ensured he was escorted to a safe place. Once the member of public was safe, he indicated to the driver that it was safe to continue with his manoeuvre.
Shaun's quick actions avoided a potentially serious accident.
