Local rugby club start the New Year in style.

MORRISTON Silverbacks Rugby Football Club's Under 10s team will be looking good in 2009 thanks to a donation from FirstGroup. The transport company, which operates bus and train services in South and West Wales, has helped to fund a new kit for the team, which will ensure that they turn some heads when they run out onto the pitch this year.
The team, which has 20 players ranging from 8 years to 10 years old, received the new kit at the end of 2008 in time for the first match of the year. Gareth Evans who coaches the team along with David McClean, says: "When you look great, you feel great and that has an impact on performance. The kids look fantastic in their new strip and as a result their confidence on the pitch is increased. The players and I are all really grateful to First; it's a great start to the New Year."
Talking about the donations, Tony McNiff, Managing Director, First Cymru says: "It gives us great pleasure to be able to support local groups and make a difference to the local community. Through the charities and sponsorship committee, FirstGroup has donated more than £78,000 to groups and associations throughout the UK, and this is in addition to the phenomenal amount of money that we have raised for our corporate charity partner, Save the Children."
