First to run new direct Ammanford to Neath bus service.

Following approaches from Cllr Linda Williams at the November operator/member seminar, and also Neath Port Talbot CVS, First will revise service 132 which will run two-hourly from Ammanford to Neath via Pontardawe on Mondays to Saturdays from 23rd February.

First's Managing Director Tony McNiff said that he was happy to accommodate the requests which would see exisiting service 148 incorporated into the revised 132 which would connect at Pontardawe with services 120/125 to/from Swansea.

The council's Head of Engineering & Transport, John Flower, said a number of concessionary bus pass holders live in complexes north of Pontardawe and this welcome move by First will enable them to travel direct to and from Neath for shopping.

Timings for service 122 (Swansea to Neath) will alter by half an hour in both directions to avoid clashing with service 132 and X15 between Ammanford and Gwaun cae Gurwen.
